Application of tawhid in our daily life.

Tawhid means oneness of God. Tawhid must be at the bottom of our heart. When tawhid is in our heart, all the imaginations are in the name of Allah which means whatever we do, we remember Allah. Furthermore, our worldview will totally base on Islamic worldview. Worldview here means our perception toward the surrounding around us. What we think and respond to a certain thing is based on our worldview. For example, in our life we are facing a lot of problems. They come and go like the wind. Sometimes we can easily face it, but at the other time we stuck on it. The question is how are we going to see that problem? The answer for this question is based on our worldview. For those who have faith (iman) and adopt tawhid in their life, the answer would be that the problem is a test from Allah to His servants. When we are in difficult time, remember Allah is the best thing. Prayer and recite al-Quran can make our heart calm. Believe that Allah is there for us, He is the Cherisher and Sustainer of the world. Allah alone we worship, and Allah alone we ask for help.

From my experience, many people (Muslims) start to blame the fate when they are in difficulty. This kind of act shows that tawhid is not in the bottom of their hearts. Na’uzubillah. Life as a student, sometimes we are having pressure, depression and stress because of a lot of assignments need to be done, also quizzes and exams. In order to release the pressure, some of them go out watching movies, hang out until midnight, karaoke, playing games and what so ever. As students who learn about religion in this Islamic university, we should not do all such thing because it will not help us at all. What we have to do is come back to the purpose of our creation which is to worship Allah. Pray as much as we can and ask help from Allah. Ask Allah to make our hearts calm and to make us strong to face this world. Consequently, when tawhid being part of our life, we would realize that we are always need Allah and Allah is there for us anytime, anywhere.
